Getting Rid of Colourized Listings

Edit the two files /etc/DIR_COLORS and /etc/DIR_COLORS.xterm and change the lines

        COLOR tty
to
        COLOR none
This won't effect any existing shell sessions, but you should see the difference in any new ones.
